Get Firewise : Teachers : Programmes : Secondary School Programme
The senior secondary school fire safety programme, Be Firewise, Party at Our Place, is aimed at students 16 years of age and over, and who might be preparing to leave school and move out of the family home to live independently. It covers some of the potential fire dangers of living with others in a flatting situation and how best to avoid them.
The core component of the programme is a video drama followed up by a discussion between the actors and firefighters. The video can be used in a one-hour self-contained programme suitable for a school leaver seminar, or can be extended with optional activities that can be incorporated into transition or life skills programmes.
